The purpose of winshell+ is to provide a greater depth in functionality and usability than
is currently offered by the Windows command line. The user interface is designed to be simple
and easy to use. A built-in font is used for the commands and arguments.
There are several advantages of using winshell+ over simply using the Windows command line

winshell+ Installation:
1. Copy the contents of the downloaded file to the c:\winshell+ folder. (The contents of the
winshell+ folder can be seen when you open up notepad and choose Open from the File
menu).
2. Select the location where you want to store the files that you create by using winshell+.
(Select the location that you want to use for this copy of winshell+).
3. When you run the installer (winshell.exe) it will automatically copy the files and folders
in the new winshell+ folder to the location you selected.
winshell+ Usage:
To begin using winshell+ you will need to execute an options file that is generated by the
winshell+ installer.
When you create a new script, you can add commands and arguments directly into a shell file
instead of having to enter them all by hand. You may also use the screen editing functions
which allows you to edit the file without having to open up more programs.
The screen editor has commands for editing the variables, functions, and comments.
Comment: Comments are a way of grouping things together for easier editing.
Variables: Variables can be used to store information such as values that you enter in a
screen entry (for example, a telephone number or a mail address). By naming the variable
WITH the same characters you are entering into the screen, you can save several
characters of information in the file. You can also use more than one variable per
screen entry. For example, you could save a telephone number and a mail address.
Functions: Functions are pieces of code that you can use to perform a specific task. For

The easiest and most likely correct way to install winshell+ is to use sourceforge to download it.
winshell+ works in Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. In these versions you need to set the shell environment variables. As you have correctly concluded, you do not need to set the environment variables.

When using an Eclipse, Netbeans or other IDE, there is no need to set the environment variables.
If you are using the nano editor there is no need to set the environment variables.
