Strictly Come Dancing's Judi Love speaks out on show exit

The comedian, 41, was voted off the BBC ballroom dance contest on Sunday after she and her professional partner , 27, found themselves in the dance off against competitive swimmer Adam Peaty, 26, and his partner , 32.

The funnywoman said she was ‘so appreciative’ of twinkle-toed star Graziano while he said she was ‘the highlight’ of his journey.

On her participation in this year’s series, Situs Judi Online told It Takes Two host Rylan Clark-Neal, 33, on Monday: ‘There’s a sense of accomplishment when taking part in Strictly and I just look at Graziano and I’m so appreciative of what he’s done and what we’ve done together.’ 

Praising his pal, Graziano gushed: ‘Judi has been the highlight of my journey on Strictly.I found a friend. She understood every part of my character. 

‘Because we connected since the first second, I know this person here, if I have got a problem, if I need someone to talk to – she’s the one.’

Judi returned to the competition on Saturday after taking the week before off due to coronavirus.

She was forced into isolation after testing positive but returned at the weekend before getting voted off the show.

On returning to the competition after recovering from Covid, Judi said: ‘I felt like there was a lot of nerves but I was so determined to get back on that dancefloor, no matter what, with my partner…

‘I just wanted to get back out there and share the experience with Graziano again – it’s a partnership.’

Judi’s Cha Cha to Physical by Olivia Newton-John was not enough to keep her in the competition as she went up against Adam and Katya but she is not holding her elimination against the judges.

She said: ‘I feel good!I appreciate all the judges, they’re professionals. That’s their expertise, but what I would say to Craig is that his expertise is ballroom so I would challenge him to a little twerk off and let me lift up my scoreboard!’

Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all opted to save Adam – with Shirley Ballas adding she would have made the same decision.

On Saturday, Craig said: ‘I think it’s a tough year for celebrities to sign up for Strictly, there is so much dance talent that you are competing with.All that being said, I have a personal preference and that personal preference, on their dance tonight, is Adam and Katya.’

Anton added: ‘When these two couples danced these dances last night, I gave them the same mark.Watching them tonight, they both made mistakes, but the couple who pushed through with their routine in a stronger way is Adam and Katya.’

Motsi said, ‘I have to say that dance off was really great, it was great to watch both couples dancing on the dancefloor.The decision was made for me and so I have to say that the couple that I will be saving is Adam and Katya.’

Reflecting on her experience Judi told host Tess Daly: ‘This has been an amazing experience, a life changing experience, I want to say thank you to all the professional dancers, the judges, the team, everybody!

‘Graziano has supported me, stuck by me, and took me to a place I never thought I could go and so for that I love you so much.Thank you.  

On the mend: Judi had returned to the dance floor, with a score of 25 out of 40, after recently testing positive for COVID-19

‘Can I just say I’m taking Graz home!I will keep dancing,’ she hilariously quipped. 

Graziano added: ‘First of all, I’ve made a friend for life. She is one of the strongest women I’ve ever met.

‘This woman has been in rehearsal every day, for every dance, given me 150%, and you know what I love the most, you are true, you are real, so thank you so much.’

Strictly Come Dancing will return on Saturday 6th November at 6:45pm, with the results show on Sunday 7th November at 7:15pm on BBC One.
