1. A Start in Square

The beginning of the Final Fantasy XV project.

In the year 2006, the concept of Final Fantasy XV was born.

On November 25, 2006, Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII were released for PlayStation 3.

From the release of these two games on PlayStation 3 to the start of final development on XV, nine years have passed.

The Final Fantasy XV project kicked off with the question, “How can we revitalize Final Fantasy after the series had gone through so many changes?”

Thanks to the support of an incredibly devoted fanbase, and based on our confidence in the development abilities of the team at Square Enix, the project was able to progress successfully.

2. Final Fantasy XV’s Beginning

2015 marks the ten-year anniversary of Final Fantasy XV.

The project has come a long way from the originally conceived “a brief movie.”

During this period, we have been able to realize Final Fantasy XV in a variety of different ways.

We would like to take the time to thank the many people who have worked on this project, and we are grateful to have been able to draw on their experience and talent to create this story.
