Finding Content

You don’t need to have perfect image content to work with Photoshop. Many photographers simply use the program to modify existing images. Your creative skills might improve with some practice, but your eye for composition, manipulation, and creativity will most likely improve far more.

Treat Photoshop as a tool to help you with the process of creating images from your creative vision rather than an end unto itself.

Creating Layouts

Photoshop enables you to work with images in any layout you want. You can combine text and graphics with images and layers (see Figure 2-5 to create the revised image. Create it at 200 px/inch. Photoshop has a built-in grid system and even better, layers that you can use to separate layers and separate groups of files for editing and combining.

Layouts work because you can hold many images on your screen at once and combine them in a variety of ways to create an image that works for your design.

Using Photo Shops

The obvious way to use Photoshop is to apply a filter or adjustment to an image. Usually, you apply this adjustment to an image, then you enhance it, like in the following example:

1. Create a new image on a new layer.

2. Use a selection or fill tool to select the area that you want to modify.

3. Click the Filter ▸ Blur ▸ Motion Blur button to add a blur filter.

4. Click the Filter ▸ Distort ▸ Lens Correction button and choose one of the distortion tools on the Lens Correction drop-down menu.

5. Adjust the settings and preview the image.

If you like the way it looks, click OK. If you don’t like the way it looks, press Shift+Z to undo the change.

when is the css3 transition taking place for an onclick event?

I wonder how the transition for css3 animations works.
I have a div that has the following onclick event:
document.getElementById(‘div’).onclick = function () {
document.getElementById(‘div’).className = ‘height1’

and a css rule for the div that has transition, that gives the height to be 1px:
-webkit-transition: height 1s ease;
-moz-transition: height 1s ease;
-o-transition: height 1s ease;
transition: height 1s ease;

For some reason this doesn’t give a transition to height1, but it gives one to the padding.
If I do:
document.getElementById(‘div’).onclick = function () {
document.getElementById(‘div’).className = ‘height1 padding’

It works as expected, giving the transition to height1 and padding.
I just want to understand the order of the transition so I know in general if I can rely on a certain behavior of the transitions.


The transition takes place after the javascript has completed its process.
So you need to put the css which is applied in the element after the javascript completes.

Nanoparticles of silica, alumina, titania and zirconia have become increasingly important over the last decade as catalysts in many petrochemical processes. There are a number of commercially viable industrial processes utilizing such supported catalyst materials, including the oxidative dehydrogenation of olefins to produce gasoline. The alumina-silica molecular sieve catalysts disclosed in patent U.S. Pat. No. 3,835,031 have been particularly effective in such processes. Other catalysts, however, such as alumina-silica molecular sieves incorporating zirconia or silica-zirconia catalysts have not been commercially successful because of their relatively low activity.
In recent years, the use of phosphorus-containing catalysts has become important in these processes. Such catalysts are disclosed in patents such as U.S. Pat. Nos. 3,894,102; 4,054,511; 4,103,038; 4,188,282; 4,234,435; and 4,332,861. The major problems associated with some of these catalyst materials, however, is that they are difficult and/or expensive to prepare. Also, some require expensive starting materials and/or are not hydrothermally stable at commercially acceptable temperatures.
The preparation of alumina-containing molecular sieves by hydrolyzing alumina sol and reacting the hydroxylated sol with a silica-containing solution is well known. Such processes are disclosed, for example, in U.S. Pat. No. 3,364,143, U.S. Pat. No. 3,979,287, and U.S. Pat. No. 4,277,313.
It has now been found that zirconia-containing molecular sieves can be prepared from zirconium carbonate, a relatively inexpensive hydrogel which is made by hydrolyzing zirconium alkoxide and reacting the resulting hydroxylated sol with silica solution. Zirconia-containing molecular sieves of the type disclosed herein are disclosed in U.S. Pat. Nos. 4,016,245 and 4,104,294.
It has now been found that these zirconia-containing molecular sieves are capable of reforming methane to methanol with high selectivity and good conversion. Such a process is highly desirable for many purposes, including a direct process for producing methanol as
